The war over steel: How big an economic threat are Trump's steel and aluminum tariffs to your business?

A recent study, released late last year, painted a troubling picture for builders. The steady pace of economic growth seems to be masking some of the challenges that the US Builder industry has faced over the last couple of years, while the stock market is booming, profits for builder and construction businesses are plummeting. World steel prices have swung from very low to very high, leading to a sharp drop in industry incomes. We asked for your 2Cents on steel/aluminum tariffs? According to our survey, an overwhelming 74% believe that "President Trumps plan for hefty tariffs on imported steel and aluminum will decrease profits" and at least 54% feel that "Tariffs will result in a major trade war with affected countries like China".
